On December 1, 2009 Conserve Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Environment announced an investment of $1.35 million to equip school buses with fuel-efficient technology such as heaters and timers, route optimization software, and emission control technology.
Conserve Nova Scotia will administer this program, and it is expected that these incentives will become available by Spring 2010. Program details will be available at that time, along with application forms.
Incentives will be provided to pay for costs to upgrade school buses to make them more environmentally friendly. Those interested may apply via an application form. Funds will be available for the installed cost of pre-approved equipment. Incentives will not be available retroactively.
