On December 1, 2009, Conserve Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Environment announced an investment of $1 million from the ecoNova Scotia for Clean Air and Climate Change fund towards incentives for the purchase of hybrid trucks.

Deadlines have been extended for incentives to help cover the incremental cost of the hybrid technology on delivery and waste trucks. Those interested may apply via an application process. All vehicles must be in service by March 31, 2011. Incentives will not be available retroactively.
