On December 1, 2009 Conserve Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Environment announced an investment of $1 million for technologies that help heavy duty Class 8 trucks become more fuel efficient.
It is expected that these incentives will become available by Spring 2010. Program details will be available at that time, along with application forms.
Incentives will be provided for equipment such as anti-idling devices, aerodynamic improvements and fuel efficient tires. Those interested may apply via an application form. Funds will be available for the installed cost of pre-approved equipment. Incentives will not be available retroactively.
