Alan was appointed General Manager, Customer Service for Nova Scotia Power Inc. (NSPI) in February 2005.
Alan Richardson is responsible to deliver quality service to NSPI's customers and is focused on implementing changes based on customer feedback.
Priority areas include improved customer communications and delivery of energy efficiency and conservation programs; assisting customers to reduce their energy costs and help the environment.
After joining NSPI in 1986, Alan progressed through increasingly senior technical and managerial roles, including senior management positions in Regional Operations, Marketing and Sales, and Strategic Planning.
He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia, and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Nova Scotia.
Alan is active in industry associations, having served as past Chair of the Customer Council of the Canadian Electricity Association, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia Division of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters.
Alan currently resides in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, with his wife Denise and daughters Kaylen and Morgan.
